SCREAMING LIGHTS
Mark it zero………..

Our debut album ‘Like Angels’ was reviewed in the NME this week. They gave it 0/10, and we’re not going to ignore it.

I do not know why it got 0/10. Even though it is a record we made and a record we are proud of, I cannot, in my heart of hearts accept such a slating from anyone, I wouldn’t accept it if John Lennon said it was utter shit. I didn’t have high expectations. I didn’t expect 10/10 AND ‘THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST THING EVER EVER EVER EVER.’ But I also didn’t expect this. They mis-quoted lyrics and made it out like our age was a problem: ‘Fresh out of school.’ To put that part right, myself, Liam, Connor and Alan are 20, Alan is 21 in November, and Max is 23.

Lastly, 21st Century, Exit Wound, Hello Tomorrow, Volts and Anymore are on the album, that’s 5 songs of 11. So I’m sure you people can judge half the album for yourselves.

I felt like I should acknowledge this review because I don’t like pretending bad things haven’t happened, we didn’t write the record for the NME. We wrote it for ourselves, and for anyone interested in hearing it and connecting with it. This reaction is based more on pure confusion than anger.
